A gifted sixth generation Napa Valley farmer, and a passionate advocate on behalf of the region, Davie Piña is widely recognized as one of California's most knowledgeable and respected vineyard managers.

As the president and general manager of Pina Vineyard Management, the company founded by his father in 1960, Davie manages a portfolio of elite properties, with an emphasis on small, family-owned Napa Valley vineyards. Known for individually tailoring viticulture programs to match the nuanced complexity of each site, Davie's artisan approach focuses on producing world-class fruit from vineyards of rare distinction.

Contributing to his comprehensive knowledge of farming and viticulture, Davie spent seven years as the assistant winemaker for Rutherford Hill Winery, and was the winemaker for his own family's winery, Piña Napa Valley. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Howell Mountain Growers and Vintners Association, the Yountville Appellation Association and the Rutherford Dust Society. In 2007, Davie was honored as Napa County Grower of the Year by the Napa Valley Grape Growers Association. In keeping with his belief in environmentally conscious farming practices, Davie is currently working with the Rutherford Dust Society to help restore the Napa River.

Since the planting of the very first Cabernet Sauvignon vines at our Nicali Vineyard, Davie has guided our sustainable, hand-farmed viticulture program, while maintaining an absolute focus on achieving the rich, expressive potential from our exceptional land.
